Wenn rho +/- 1 ist, dann ist die entsprechende Kovarianzmatrix (bzw. Korrelationsmatrix) singulär, inbesondere gilt det = 0. Damit ist die Matrix nicht invertierbar, weil die zugehörige lineare Abbildung nicht-trivial in den Kern abbildet, insbesondere also nicht injektiv ist.
